Cute Twins by Abigail KirkPatrick..................

Twin boys can be fun. They can be sweet. They can be mischievous.
They can be messy. But, most of all they can be just so cute!

Scrap Plezier sent me a generous supply of  chipboard arrows in all
different sizes and shapes, and I wanted to make good use of them.
Arrows are really useful in design because they make great leading lines,
drawing the viewer's eye toward your subject.

I misted all the arrows blue to keep them somewhat cohesive with the boys outfits,
and so that, even though they are all different, they all coordinate with each other.

This cute twine from Scrap Plezier adds texture, which I am a big fan of.

One of my goals this year was to add more journaling. Your journaling spot can also be your title by
cleverly adding in alpha stickers. The alpha's don't have to match, just coordinate.

The top of the page shows a bright blue envelope flap, which is held closed by a decorative
swirly green paperclip. I picked up this paperclip in the office supply section
of a store. I love using office supplies on scrapbook pages! Oh, and that "envelope"?
Yeah, that's a CD holder. I am fresh out of envelopes, so I improvised! I wanted to include
it so that I could tuck in a drawing that one of the twins made for me.
(They are a little older now than what the picture shows) It's just scribbles, but it's the first
one he gave to me. I started writing the date and the "artist's" name on the back of
the artwork I get from little people. It helps me remember who gave it to me.

Used Materials :  Nan's Favorite Papiercollectie Kaisercraft, Chipboard Arrows, Dark Blue Burlap
Blue Glitter, Ink, Green Paperclip and 1 Blue Envelope.

Friends Forever by Abigail KirkPatrick........

You know how you have a few friends that you have just know forever?
Well, Chuck is one of those friends. We have know each other since we were 12.
His parents are like parents to me and he's like a brother to me.
This is one of his school pics, not sure which year. I think it's high school,
so that would be early 90's era. The hair is crackin' me up, lol!

I made these flowers by tearing long strips of paper and pleating them while turning them down
onto a big glue dot. Top with a button and they are so cute!

I thought this nice clock, the clock paper underneath and the line of clocks on my banner
were symbolic of the fact that 20 years has gone by since this is a photo of one of my
oldest friends.

I really like how these flowers turned out! I also added the trains because I realized I made
Chuck's page all girly! It's hard for me scrap for guys and little boys.
I just love my blingy, shiney, pink supplies, lol!

Used Materials : Designpapier van Kaisercraft, een uitgestanste Wheathered Clock

If you need a quick Gift!!!!!!

So, have you ever needed a quick gift and didn't have time to make one or shop for one?
Well, this is a quick project that will make a great personalized gift!
These are bookmarks I made from scrapbook supplies......

These took less than 10 minutes to make for the both of them.
Bonus : this is a quick way to use up your leftover supplies and tiny bits of papers...

Here's a fun technique: double stamping. The darker heart is stamped in the regular way.
The lighter heart is done by stamping immediately after, but not re-inking.

I used a chipboard heart, cut in half on this bookmark.
I do not recommend using embellishments any thicker than this.
Remember, it will be tucked away in the pages of a book!

On the second one I didn't even use glue! It's all held down with washi tape.

Feta and Ricotta Stuffed Tomatoes......

I loved this recipe!!!! Anyways, I made another page for my recipe book.

I gave this one a few stars because I really loved it, lol! I really wanted to use this star,
but I had to make it fit. Cutting it was not an easy choice,
but I really like how it turned out.

Here's the other star, but I wrapped this one in twine and used pop up adhesives.

The doily is the same color as the stars and the ingredient list.

Look how sweet these pearls are!

Sketch Challenge@Scrapplezier.nl April 2013.

Amanda and Raul

This is a picture of my beautiful ex-roommate and her fiance. They are such a wonderful couple!

I had SO MUCH FUN making this page! The background of this cardstock was originally beige. I had fun painting and gess-ing and just making a beautiful background for my LO.

I wrapped this twine around the photo and the two backing papers. All the papers are
textured and distressed on the edges.

I love this fun jar shaped tag! I also really love that it says memory. This picture that I
scrapped is a beautiful memory of my gorgeous  ex-roomie and her sweetie!

I used staples to attach these banner strips because I love the office supply, grungy, industrial
look they give the LO.

These fun gear shapes that Scrap Plezier sent over! I used pop up squares  to make this one
more 3-dimensional!

This sweet butterfly was made with a punch and some pretty paper that Scrap Plezier
sent me! I also put some Blings on that SP sent me to add to the glam effect that this butterfly has!

This cluster is made with several strips of paper, washi tape and a circle punch! I layered,
stacked and stapled these papers and the washi tape!
Then I punched a circle with some of the Scrap Plezier paper and an epoxy clear sticker
over it to give it some dimension.

Thank you so much for looking and I hope I inspired you!

Cherished............

Welcome to my second blog post,  I am really excited about this project because I got to play with some fun techniques. I used some doilies that Scrap Plezier sent over as masks and then painted them a different color so I got more mileage out of my doilies. It looks like I used 5 doilies here, but I only used 2!

I laid a doily going off the page on this corner and then misted it. When I pulled up the doily this is what I had. So pretty!

I like that this page was really girlie and feminine, but I wanted to grunge it up just a tad so I used some staples to hold these banners in place over the washi tape.

Again the I used a doily as a mask to mist over and then painted the doily beige and layered it over the misted part. Looks like two doilies, but it's just one!

This pretty scrolly chipboard piece was fun to paint up!

I used several colors on this heart to add dimension and lastly splattered some black just for fun!

Again, I layered several colors onto this heart shaped chipboard. I like the splash of yellow contrast on the birdcage underneath. That "Cherished" embellishment was made by fussy cutting it off of a paper.

Thanks for letting me share this project with you, now go get crafty!

"Do You Scrap Your Recipes?"

naam is Abigail Kirkpatrick, haar werk is zeer inspirerend, veelbelovend
en onwijs leerzaam!!!

Ik mag daarom ook zeggen "Have fun"

Do you scrap your recipes? I started making a personalized recipe book before I started scrapbooking!
I hated knowing that I had the perfect cheesecake recipe,
but which book was it in? And, then, sometimes you find the recipe
only to realize that it  was similar, but it wasn't the same perfect cheesecake
that you loved before. Or you find a great recipe in a magazine and
then tear it out to save it, but then you have all these loose papers lying around.
I needed to organize them! So I started tearing out the recipes I loved
and putting them into a binder with page protectors.
So, when I started scrapbooking it seemed only natural to want to decorate those pages.
When I got my box of goodness from www.scrapplezier.nl
I immediately noticed the food themed supplies.
How fun is this?

Look at this cute stove/oven card! I also really like tabs and this one fit the theme perfectly
with the table-cloth style red and white checker pattern.
Check out that doily as well. Doilies are everywhere lately!

The border cluster at the top was made by layering and stacking a couple of die cut shapes,
border strips and washi tape, finished off with staples.

The sentiment here on the die cut emblem is sooo true and sooo cute!

A few notes about scrapbooking your recipes that I have learned along the way. You probably don't want to use a 12 x 12 book unless you have a lot of space in your kitchen. Just think about how you work in your kitchen and having a large 12 x 12 album open to your recipe and, well you get the picture.  Also, don't make it too complicated with interactive layers, pull outs, folders, or envelopes. When you are in the middle of cooking you want to be able to glance at your recipe and quickly find what you need. Lastly, use page protectors! Food gets splashed, spattered and spilled and you don't want spaghetti sauce "decorating" your beautiful pages. Unless you're into that kinda thing. Then, by all means decorate your scrapbook pages with food! But, seriously thank you for letting me share a recent page from my recipe scrapbook. Now it's your turn, go get crafty and share your creations with me on my http://www.facebook.com/Scrapbookista
